What is water-based growing?

Water-based growing is an efficient way to grow your favorite plants with only water and nutrients. It’s a simple gardening method that allows you to grow herbs, veggies, leafy greens, and even some fruits, indoors all year round, no matter what season it is.

How does it work?

Growing plants require water, sunlight, carbon dioxide, and nutrients. In a normal garden, plants dig their roots deep into the soil to find the nutrients they need to grow big and beautiful. In water-based gardening systems, nutrients are added to water which is then circulated to the roots to give them the nutrients they need.

Is it complicated?

No! Indoor growing is simpler than ever with the Miracle-Gro® Twelve Indoor Growing System. That’s because it’s an all-in-one system that creates the ideal light conditions for plants to thrive and constantly delivers nutrients and water to plant roots. All you have to do is add your plants, add nutrients and water, watch them grow, and harvest.

Water-based growing is nearly as simple as it sounds a method of growing plants without soil.

What can I grow in water?

Water-based gardening is a simple and fun activity that you can enjoy no matter the season or space you’re in. From veggies and herbs to flowers and fruits, the options are vast. In fact, just about the only plants that aren’t suited for water-based gardening are those that require a lot of space like trees and shrubs, or root crops like potatoes and onions.

Growing plants in water is one of the easiest ways to garden. From big-city accessibility to year-round access to your favorite fresh foods, there are so many reasons to start your own water-based garden. It’s a fun activity that anyone from newbies to green-thumb experts can fall in love with, thanks to Miracle-Gro® Twelve Indoor Growing System.
